ABOUT
I was first taught how to knit by my (now aged 105!) grandmother when I was around five years old. I didn't pick up my pins again until years later when I became pregnant with my first child and then went on to teach myself crochet too using books and YouTube videos.
I then started working for Cygnet Yarns and, before long, I was having a go at pattern design and soon go promoted as their in-house designer. I adored my time at Cygnet - I got to do everything from running the social media, to selecting new yarn ranges and shades and designing the branding. Not to mention the pattern design.
Since leaving Cygnet, I've been working for a large educational corporation and I felt I was losing my creative juju, so here I am, back in the yarn game!
I have two kids, my son (Edward) has just started secondary school and I'm currently homeschooling my 14-year-old daughter who has just started studying for her GCSEs! So between juggling the little people, a full-time job and managing a household containing a crackers sprocker and five cats, surely I've got time to run a yarn shop!
